Have you heard the name, Adepeju Jaiyeoba (nee Mabadeje)? May be not. Well, I will tell you a few things about her. Adepeju is a Nigerian trained lawyer and founder of Brown Button Foundation , an NGO established to help curb the high mortality rates in Nigeria, promote women’s sexual and reproductive rights and helping them to make informed choices. Over time, Adepeju has headed and contributed to different spheres of life. She was the NYSC Legal Aid group committee head on women and children’s right between 2008 and 2009.  In 2009, she was a volunteer guest writer for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) held in Trinidad and Tobago. Also, she was selected to participate in a capacity building and young women mentoring program with the Women in Successful Careers (WISCAR) organization where her leadership skills were further sharpened in 2010. Brief Profile Aliko Dangote , the richest man in Nigeria and first Nigerian Billionaire to be listed on New York-based Forbes , was born on the 10th of April, 1957. He is the founder of Dangote Group , which has subsidiaries that supply commodities like cements, sugar, salt, flour, rice, spaghetti, fabric and the like at affordable prices. This Dangote Group imports 400,000 metric tonnes of sugar annually which makes up about 70 per cent of the total requirements of the nation and is a major supplier of the product to the manufacturers of Coca Cola, Pepsi Cola and Seven-Up in Nigeria. Dangote was ranked first (weath-wise) in Nigeria in the 2008 Forbes Magazine with an estimated fortune of 3.3 billion dollars. At the monment, he is estimated to be worth 17.9 billion dollars on Forbes in 2015.  Background Aliko Dangote was born in Kano, where his grandfather, the late Alhaji Sanusi Dantata provided him Aliko Dangote and Bill Gates with a small capital to start his own business.

Ellen DeGeneres , an American talk show host is partnering with GAP for a unique and groundbreaking collaboration to empower girls and celebrate them being their own heroes. This partnership will lead to the launch of GapKids x ED, an apparel collection, which is “an apparel range and social movement designed to help all girls realize they have the power to do extraordinary things”. Ellen, who is known for rocking pants and sneakers, will be launching the ED brand this summer, followed by the Gap Kids x ED apparel range. Do you remember gladiators? Did you ever rock them when they were in vogue? If didn’t have the opportunity to do so, you can now. History Gladiators are t-strap sandals with several straps running across the front of the foot. These sandals have historical roots in the Ancient Greeks and the Roman Empire, where gladiators wore the Gladiator Sandals between the 193 to 211 CE. Predominantly made in leather (animal hide), the toughest leather were used for the soles and the softer pieces for the straps and inner sole.
