Benefits of Olive Oil on the Hair

Olive Oil on Hair
Hi there, I am back again on olive oil. However, this will be the last sequence of my write-up on olive oil.
Today, I will be discussing the benefits of olive oil to our hair. Yes, I know we all love to know about this because many of us battle with hair loss and the need to strengthen our hair.
Over time, olive oil has been used by both men and women to combat hair loss and to strengthen the hair. To reduce symptoms of hair loss, there is need for good nutrition, which includes use of healthy oils such as olive oil, which contains essential nutrients and vitamins.

Sleek, Shining and Healthy Hair
Olive oil contains anti-inflammatory properties that promote scalp health and prevent dandruff. Olive oil makes hair soft and shiny. It is made up of fatty acids that will coat the shaft of our hair to help to keep them healthy and protected. Often times, the use of hair dye, flat irons and hair dryers can damage the outer layer of our hair. However, olive oil will help coat the damaged outer layers of our hair, thereby giving them a sleek, smooth, and healthy appearance.

Tips for Great Hair

• Use olive oil in food preparation, and as ingredient that can be consumed in small amounts.
• Drink a tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil every day.
• Apply olive oil to the scalp and cover the head with a scarf. This can be done when you want to sleep (olive oil should used very lightly). You can shampoo the oil out the next morning. This treatment can inhibit hair growth.
• Warm half a cup of olive oil till it becomes lukewarm. Massage into the hair to improve the blood circulation in our scalp. This can increase blood flow and stimulating hair follicles and subsequently produce thicker strands.
Note: Remember that though olive oil can work wonders for our hair, we need to complement it with other lifestyle changes before it will truly work well for you. Such changes include adding good foods, such as almonds, seafood and yogurt to our diet.
We also need to relax more to reduce stress, which often lead to hair loss. Finally, avoid styling products that use heat due to the damage they can cause our hair.
